The entire train reservoir, which is managed by Severn Trent Water, was acquired for preservation opened in 1969; 1086 entered service in 1973 1968 and covers 29 acres. It is open to the public and was also is used in by the SVR's main line rake of coaches in the mid to late 1970sTrimpley Sailing Club, while other activities include angling, wildlife watching and walking.
