The reservoir, which is a BR Class 50 diesel locomotivemanaged by Severn Trent Water, purchased by the SVR-based Class 50 Alliance was opened in November 20161968 and covers 29 acres. In March 2019 It is open to the Alliance public and freight operator GB Railfreight unveiled 50007 is used by the Trimpley Sailing Club, while other activities include angling, wildlife watching and 50049 Defiance in GBRf livery, with the locomotives available to operate selected GBRf trains on a 'spot-hire' basiswalking.
