The reservoir, which is a GWR Collett 5101 class 2-6-2T 'Large Prairie'managed by Severn Trent Water, was opened in 1968 and covers 29 acres. The present day [[Severn Valley Railway]] (SVR) was established in 1965 to preserve part of the line as a heritage railway.
