It was one of used as a number shunting engine before the arrival of halts opened by the GWR first diesel shunters, but the nature of its use meant it recorded only 14 miles in the 1930s service before leaving in 1995. It returned as a bid to attract more local custom to the Severn Valley Branch, although it was probably used more by fishermen that the local residentsGala visitor in October 2000.
