It was a company specialising in preserved on the manufacture of decorative floor tiles and other ceramic wares. After opening SVR in 1883, its Jackfield factory became the largest tile 1968 when declared surplus to requirements by BR just weeks after a full works in the worldoverhaul had been completed. It had a private siding on the Severn Valley Branch from which its wares were transported has run in SVR services every season since, one of only two SVR vehicles to be exported around the worldhave done so.
