It was preserved on the Severn Valley Branch SVR in commercial service. 2-4-0 locomotives and 'Metro Tanks' were generally used for passenger traffic up 1968 when declared surplus to World War 1requirements by BR just weeks after a full works overhaul had been completed. The early 1920s saw the introduction of auto coachesIt has run in SVR services every season since, while the end one of the 1920s saw new GWR 'small prairies' on the line. These became the main source of motive power until the 1950s, supplemented by 0-6-0 pannier tanksonly two SVR vehicles to have done so.
