It saw regular use on engineers' replacement for a Dean gastrains after arrival in 1990 but has now been superseded by its air-lit clerestory coach which was destroyed by firebraked equivalent. As a 'nondescript' saloon In 2016 the then owners donated it was not allocated to any specific class such as first or thirdthe [[Severn Valley Railway Charitable Trust Ltd | SVR Charitable Trust]], and was normally used for private hire. Since preservation it has been adapted thus ensuring its long term place as a wheelchair-accessible carriagepart of the SVR's wagon fleet.
