First restored to working order It was preserved on the SVR in the late 1980s, she spent considerable periods of time 1973 and appeared on the main line during both her first and second boiler tickets. Taw Valley was acquired by her present owners in 2001 and last re-entered service in 2015. Since the departure of GWR 150 demonstration freight train which ran to Newport behind [[SR 34053 Sir Keith Park2857|GWR 2857]] she is in 1985. It required a major overhaul in 2011-12 after being "''probably the only SR locomotive resident most abused historic wagon on the SVR''".
