It was built at Ashford, Kent preserved on the SVR in 1973 and appeared on the main line in 1920. Many wagons of the period were wooden-framed but this example had steel chassis membersGWR 150 demonstration freight train which ran to Newport behind [[2857|GWR 2857]] in 1985. As It required a result it had a long working life, passing from major overhaul in 2011-12 after being "''probably the Southern Railway to BR and eventually to most abused historic wagon on the Port of Bristol Authority.
