It was originally a 1973 British children's novel in which two childrenbroad gauge crane, Carrie and her younger brother Nick, are evacuated from London rebuilt to a Welsh mining village during World War II. The BBC dramatised standard gauge by the novel GWR in a 5-part serial broadcast in 1974, with scenes being filmed on 1892.
