The signal box was built in 1986, midthe design being based on a typical GWR medium-way between sized box. It works to [[BridgnorthBewdley South signal box|Bewdley South]] and [[Hampton Loade]]also communicates with Network Rail's West Midlands Signalling Centre (WMSC) at Saltley. When the SVR reopened in 1970 it served as an intermediate stopping point and watering place.
