After preservation on the SVR Kidderminster Town had no signal box when it saw use opened in 1984, resulting in an 'only one engine in steam' restriction on P-Way trains before serving for many years as operations, controlled by a sales coach for the simple [[Great Western (SVR) Assoc. Kidderminster ground frame |GW(SVR)Aground frame]] and more recently . The signal box was built in 1986, the design being based on a typical GWR medium-sized box.
