It was one of the SVR’s early locomotives, arriving 'light engine' direct from Lostock Hall on 2 August 1968. Since returning to service, 43106 has been a regular on the SVR's as well as appearing [[The Severn Valley Railway on the main carriage repair works in line |on the former GWR goods shed main line]] and at [[KidderminsterSVR-based locomotives visiting other events |gala events on other heritage railways]]. It includes these two dynamo test rigs, built around 1898, which were acquired from the LMS Wolverton works and are still in use today.
