LMSLondon Midland & Scottish Railway BTK 26921 is used as the Fund's sales coach

Following the creation of the 'Great Western Rolling Stock Fund' in 1967, the L.M.S. and B.R.British Rail or British Railways Coach Fund was established in 1971. The announcement in SVRSevern Valley Railway News stated that the fund had been "...set up to purchase mostly LMSLondon Midland & Scottish Railway, but also BRBritish Rail or British Railways Standard (if deemed necessary) coaches for use on the SVRSevern Valley Railway."[1]

By 1998 the Fund had acquired 4 LMSLondon Midland & Scottish Railway carriages (2300, 7511, 12992 and 24617) and 4 BRBritish Rail or British Railways carriages ( 9220, 16267, 25346 and 25498) for ongoing use.[2] LMSLondon Midland & Scottish Railway Brake Corridor Third 27023 and BRBritish Rail or British Railways Mk 1 Corridor Seconds 24726 and 24396 were also acquired by the Fund but later scrapped and used for spares.[3]
