Ivatt Class 4 Group

The Ivatt Class 4 Group owns 43106, "The Flying Pig", the last surviving member of this class.

It is an unincorporated body, and not a charity.

David Williams and colleagues visited Lostock Hall depot in 1967 intending to reserve a Stanier 2-6-4 tank. The last two members of the class had gone for scrap a couple of weeks before the visit, and so the shed foreman offered them 43106 instead.[1]

Railway Herald magazine reported on 7 November 2011 that the Fund is one of three similar funds operating on the SVR. An initial group of 18 members formed The Group, a larger group later formed The Passenger Tank Fund to purchase BR Riddles 4MT 80079, before a still larger group formed The 75069 Fund.[2]

As with these other groups, they have no public presence or social media sites.
