Built in Swindon in 1914<ref>SVR Stock book says both 1913 and 1914</ref>, 93016 was one of over 2,000 ten ton goods vans built to Diagram V16.
Condemned in 1961, it was retained as a service vehicle by BR (North Eastern Region) until bought by [[The GWR 813 Preservation Fund]] in 1972,<ref>http://www.gwr813.org/gwr813newsletter_B1.htm</ref><ref>A history of GWR goods wagons. It appeared on the main line in 1985 as part of the [[The Severn Valley Railway on the main line#SVR Wagons used on the main line in preservation| GW 150 demonstration freight train]] which ran to Newport behind [[2857|GWR freight loco 2857]].<ref>SVR News 78</ref>
