One of only two vehicles built to Diagram G39 in 1939, the Telegraph Code 'LoriotGWR telegraphic code signifying a machine truck Y' denotes them as 25 ton machinery trucks with a 20' well.
The sister vehicle to 41990, 41989, featured in the film "The Titfield Thunderbolt".[1][2]
