41736 was built at Swindon in 1913 In 1982-83 it underwent a major overhaul involving repairs to Diagram M3, Lot 747. Shunter’s Trucks or ‘Chariots’ were a common sight in goods yards around the GWR system. The locker on top chassis and replacement of all the platform was used woodwork.<ref name=SB9>SVR Stock Book Ninth Edition</ref> A planned move to Swindon by rail to appear at the shunting staff to store shunting poles, chocks GWR 150 Exhibition resulted in a further repaint and even re-railing equipmentprofiling of the tyres in 1985, but in the event the Exhibition was cancelled and the move did not take place. Another overhaul was carried out in 1997.<ref>SVR News 76, 123</ref>
