Ownership Highley Station Fund added
This long wheelbase ‘Fruit D’ Van is a GWR design and was built by BR at Swindon in 1950. In service it was piped for steam heat, although not heated itself, and electrically lit with power from an axle driven dynamo and chassis mounted batteries, similar to the system used on passenger coaches. Being capable of running in passenger services, it was allocated a number in the coach series in accordance with GWR practice.
It was acquired in September 1973, originally and is owned by [[Highley#Highley_Station_Fund|Highley Station Fund]]. Originally intended for loco spares storage, but it is now situated at Highley adjacent to the [[Highley signal box | Signal Box]].
