In service these 6-wheel Tool Vans carried a large selection of equipment and lifting tackle, and were paired with Riding/Dormitory Vans such as [[GWR 89 Riding/Dormitory Van | GWR89]]. They were vacuum-braked to permit fast running to the scene of accidents and breakdowns on the railway.
141 arrived on the SVR from Newton Abbot in February 1971. <ref>SVR Stock Book Ninth Edition</ref> It is photographed in March 2015 situated in the yard at [[Bewdley]].
