Class 50 Alliance Limited

Class 50 Alliance Limited, commonly referred to as 'The Class 50 Alliance Ltd ', owns four Class 50 (English Electric Type 4) diesel locomotives , and operates a fifth which is owned by Class Fifty Operations [[50031 Consortium Limited]].<ref>[httphttps://www.svrlive.com/copy-of-news-211016-1-high-sherrif SVRLive]</ref>, in turn owned by a small number of its shareholders. The Class 50 Alliance Ltd was formed in 2013 company is supported by the merger of two groups, [[The Fifty Fund and Project Defiance]]. It has a sixth locomotive on loan. All are resident on the SVR.

The Alliance’s Company was originally named Project Defiance Limited when incorporated in 1992. At that time the principal objective was to acquire, restore and operate [[BR Class 50 50049 Defiance | 50049 Defiance]].<ref>Companies House Incorporation details</ref> In November 2006, the shareholders approved a resolution to acquire the assets of [[The Fifty Fund]], including [[BR Class 50 50035 Ark Royal | 50035 Ark Royal]] and [[BR Class 50 50044 Exeter | 50044 Exeter]], with effect from January 2007.
