Standardisation of "P.Way" for terminology link
The Class 08 Society was launched in Spring 1983 to secure a vacuum fitted BR Class 08 shunter, to be used on the SVR for ECS moves, P-.Way work and other shunting purposes<Ref>SVR News 67</ref>.
The Society successfully acquired [[BR Class 08 D3022 | D3022]] in April of that year, bringing it to the SVR a month later<Ref>SVR News 68</ref>.
