At the [[Tales from the Severn Valley#Class_50_Golden_Jubilee|Class 50 Golden Jubilee]] on October 6 2018 it was formally rededicated at [[Kidderminster]] by Commodore Robert Bellfield, Royal Navy, Commander Devonport Flotilla, Devonport Dockyard – the former home to training base HMS Defiance.
In January 2019 freight operator GBRf and [[The Class 50 Alliance]] announced that [[BR Class 50 50007 Hercules|50007 Hercules]] and 50049 would be repainted into GBRf livery, with the locomotives available to operate selected GBRf trains on a ‘spot-hire’ basis.<ref>Class 50 Alliance, 15 January 2019</ref>
