The SVR's [[GWR 60841 Bogie Bolster | 60841]] is an exampleof the original GANE A first built in 1935 to Diagram J26. The 60ft length allowed standard length rails to be carried. It was never vacuum, with the wagon having a 40-fitted, which led to an early retirementton capacity.
It arrived on 996730 was built to a modified GANE A design (Diagram J29) which was introduced in 1940 and incorporated two independent long lever brakes instead of the GWR's pre-War DC brakes. It was one of a number of wagons that were originally intended for the Southall Steam Centre but which came to the SVR instead during that year, owned by J.J.
