It was preserved in 1982, since when it has been converted to a fully-equipped disabled access coach. It is seen photographed in March 2015 as part of the BR Maroon set.
 
4690 is jointly owned by the [[SVR(A) Wolverhampton Branch]] and [[Severn Valley Railway Charitable Trust Ltd | The SVR Charitable Trust]].
