The 82045 Steam Locomotive Trust is building a new locomotive of the Riddles BR 3MT 2‑6‑2T class, none of which survived into preservation. A number of members of this class of tank engines hauled services on the SVR during the BR era.
45 of these locomotives, numbered 82000-82044, were built at BR’s Swindon works between 1952 and 1955. All 45 began service in lined black livery, but many of those that worked on the BR Western Region were later repainted in lined green or latterly in unlined green livery.
13 A further 18 of the class were allocated at various times to Shrewsbury and two to Kidderminster Shedhave been built, with only one locomotive (82030) featuring on both listsbut the order for these was cancelled as part of BR’s Modernisation Plan. At least eight The closure of the class were photographed in service on branch lines such as the Severn Valley Branch while allocated and the replacement of steam by DMU services ultimately led to Shrewsbury:the withdrawal from service of those already built. None survived into preservation.

Livery
The Trust’s website notes that "As 82045 was destined for the WR had it been built as planned in 1956, it was decided that the loco when finished should appear in the attractive Swindon-inspired livery of dark green, lined out in orange and black. A subsequent repaint into lined black hasn't been ruled out, though."
The ==Model==In 2018 the Trust has also sourced some common components with the Bluebell Railway Standard Class 2 Project which is building produced a limited number of models of 82045. By May 2019 only two models remained on display at Bridgnorth Station Shop.<gallery>File:82045modelgreen.jpg | 82045 model in BR Class 2MT 2-6-2 Tank Locomotive No 84030GreenFile:82045modelblack.jpg | 82045 model in BR Black</gallery>
