The long awaited overhaul of 2047 began in with a move to Bridgnorth in November 2010. A number of components have been moved to [[Bewdley]] for work to be done there. On 14 July and on 25 November 2018 the original boiler, smokebox and saddle tank were lifted onto moved on [[GWR 42343 Machinery Flat|Loriot N 42343]] by the [[Cowans Sheldon 30-ton steam crane RS 1087|30-ton steam crane]], which moved to Bewdley on 25 November. Rewheeling commenced at Bridgnorth in December 2018.
