- 1971 GWR Pannier 5764 arrived on the SVR.
- 2007 A freak thunderstorm and flooding caused extensive damage to the SVR.
- 2017 The tenth anniversary of the 2007 Storm Damage was marked by a special train using the Belmond Northern Belle stock and the opening of an exhibition in The Engine House.
- 2018 A statement of capital following an allotment of shares showed shares issued in SVR(H) passed the 10 million mark (10,089,086).
