Bogie Bolster / Rail Carrier DB 996730 is one of 95 built for BR by Cravens of Sheffield in 1950 to the former GWR ‘Gane A’ design, of which the SVR’s [[GWR 60841 Bogie Bolster | 60841]] is an example. The 60ft length allowed standard length rails to be carried. It was never vacuum-fitted, which led to an early retirement.

It arrived on the SVR in 1990, and is used by the PW department for carrying rails and sleepers.
