Goodnight Mister Tom was a 1998 made-for-TV Movie featuring John Thaw (The Sweeney, Inspector Morse, etc.), from the novel by Michelle Magorian. The plot concerns the developing friendship between a shy young WWII evacuee and the disgruntled old man with whom he is housed<ref>[http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0175680/ Internet Movie Database]</ref>.
The fictional station in the story is Little Weirwold, although the film had a 'Weirwold' running in board.<ref>[https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1591131597687626&set=p.1591131597687626&type=3&theater Image from Kirsten Shell on Facebook, 29 May 2019]</ref> Filming on the SVR took place at [[Arley]]. The locomotive used was [[GWR Mogul 7325]], 'weathered' in an attempt to camouflage the post-War BR livery<ref>[http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0175680/board/nest/53708496?ref_=tt_bd_6 IMDb forum]</ref>. In another scene, a busy London station was needed, with Loughborough station on the Great Central Railway being chosen. However, 7325 was not able to follow the film crews; instead, 7325's number plates were temporarily transferred to GCR resident 'Modified Hall' [[6990 Witherslack Hall]], with a number of other differences being visible to the experienced eye!
