The FRUIT D is a GWR design dating from 1939, although only 50 were built It was acquired by the GWR with most examples including W3429 being completed by SVR (BR who continued their construction as late as 1958) Buffet Car Fund in 1981 and used for many years on the Severn Valley Venturer dining service. Unsurprisingly, there are a large number of questions about the SVR, both in pre-preservation days and for a number of historical items since then.
