  • 1981 'Great Western Weekend' Sunday featured a Demonstration Goods Train hauled by GWR 0-6-0PT 5764[1].
  • 2024: A special Supporters' Day was held on the Friday, a non-public service day. Over 1,300 shareholders, members and Charitable Trust patrons and guardians attended.
  • 2025: Shareholders at the SVR(H) AGM voted overwhelmingly to proceed with the conversion into a Charitable Community Benefit Society (CCBS) as part of the 'One Railway' restructuring.
