Waterworks Crossing

Waterworks Crossing provides access to the Severn Trent waterworks on the eastern side of the river via a bridge over the river. The bridge is supported by two arched water carrying pipes that support the bridge span. Sadly, it was the location of a fatal accident in January 1994 where a locomotive struck a van negotiating the crossing. An inquest in May recorded a verdict of 'accidental death' with no blame attached to the Railway.
