Warwickshire Industrial Locomotive Preservation Trust formed
An application was made in 2005 to The [[:Category:Lottery funding#National_Lottery_Heritage_Fund|Heritage Lottery Fund]] for a Grant of £151,000, but this was declined the following year.<ref name=DC/>
In April 2022 at a WILT & and WILPG joint annual general meeting members unanimously voted to merge and form WILPT (presumably the Warwickshire Industrial Locomotive Preservation Trust), a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.<ref>[https://wilt.jimdo.com/2-about-us/ WILT website] (Retrieved 14 August 2022)</ref> The following December the Charity Commission approved the application to create the '''Warwickshire Industrial Locomotive Preservation Trust''' (charity number 1201400) which eventually will replace the two existing groups<ref>David Cooke, WILT Facebook announcement 21 December 2022</ref>.
