GWR 2214 / DW150393.<br>
GWR 5786 also erroneously shown as DW150393 - an image says it’s DW150338. A search under the RCTS says broken up c1994. The commentary on this page says: Seen at Willesden in mid-1993.[19] Broken up circa 1999,[5] bogies and parts saved[20]. I suspect the RCTS is correct, the 1993 relates to 5786 and the 1999 commentary relates to 2214 - I can’t get behind the paywall of departmentals.com to confirm though - but I think Robin has?--Patrick Hearn (talk) 00:25, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
: Good spot. Having checked what I can, 2214 is confirmed as becoming DW150393 (RCE Staff and Dormitory Coach) circa 11/96 per Longworth (2018) pp.78, 170. The scrapping date of 11 June 1999 is from SVR News 130. 5786 is confirmed as becoming DW150338 (Sleeping Mess and Tool Coach) circa 03/62 by Longworth (2018) pp.73, 170. 5786 is mentioned in the 1998 Stock Book under 'Vehicles scrapped on the SVR', the scrapping location being Kidderminster and the date presumably before publication in June 1998. I can't find any mention of it being acquired or indeed scrapped in SVR News, it was probably bought for spares and scrapped shortly after arrival. --Robin (talk) 15:36, 15 April 2024 (UTC)
