Talk:BR Class 20 D8059

I'm placing a call on the Batphone (as that should get a response from Robin!) for a bit more history on D8059 and D8188. I can't find much at all on the internet with regards to when they were preserved or their pre-SVR history (if they had any). The owning group appears to have no online presence at all, so I suspect the SVR News and knowledgable people are the only available sources. --Danny252 (talk) 11:09, 31 August 2016 (UTC)

Holy Choppers, Batman! I found a few bits and pieces by browsing around, although diesels don't get much coverage in SVR News at the best of times, let alone when the great flood was in progress. I'll keep an eye open for any other snippets.--Robin (talk) 18:07, 31 August 2016 (UTC)
I also put out a request on the Diesel group on Facebook, as if anyone is likely to know, it'll be the people who actually drive/repair the locos. Good thinking to actually check photo captions, I had completely ignored all photos. Quite the mysterious history pre-2000 for D8059... --Danny252 (talk) 08:52, 1 September 2016 (UTC)
Not too mysterious; I'd forgotten to check one of my regular sources of information, UKLocos. It was a good bet to be a commercial user rather than a heritage operator - turned out to be EWS. --Robin (talk) 19:19, 1 September 2016 (UTC)
