It is a type ‘Open A’, signifying a 10-ton capacity open wagon with a sheet support (which it no longer has) but not equipped with vacuum brakeswas used for transporting signal posts and similar equipment. It was acquired from Avonmouth Docks purchased in 19811972, arriving on the SVR on 19 February 1982in May from Danygraig (near Swansea).
