clarify carriage sets
The SVR can call on a fleet of approximately 8 steam locomotives, 4 diesel locomotives, a 5 car (3+2) DMU, 65 carriages and several goods wagons.<br>
There are several more locomotives, both steam and diesel currently undergoing long term repair.<br>
The carriages are normally operated as six five rakes of 7 or 8 carriages, ; one rake each of BR maroon, GWR chocolate & cream, BR crimson & cream, LNER teak, and LMS maroon plus one a five carriage GWR chocolate & cream diner set.<br>
A number of the goods wagons are used for demonstration freight trains.<br>
