This Bogie Rail Wagon was built by GRCW for the London Transport Board for use by London Underground Limited (LUL). The type was a post-World War 2 development of a 1936 design by London Transport CME William Graff-Baker, and when built was the longest all-welded steel wagon. As delivered it was fitted with a pair of 2-ton hoists<ref name=SB9>SVR Stock Book Ninth Edition</ref>.
It is sometimes referred to as the 'Arniki' wagon.
