Summary
Southern approach to Bewdley, taken from the rear of a train heading for Kidderminster.
Referring to the Bewdley South signal box diagram, this photo shows;
On the left, for trains approaching from the former Stourport line, signal 5 for the DownIn reference to the direction of travel means away from the major terminus (i.e. towards Bridgnorth on the present day SVR) Main with a fixed distant under it and signal 20 for the Goods Loop & yard.
On the right, for trains on the main line from Kidderminster are signal 9 for the Goods Loop, 6 for the DownIn reference to the direction of travel means away from the major terminus (i.e. towards Bridgnorth on the present day SVR) Main, 7 for the Back Road and two fixed distants.
In the distance can be seen signal 28, the UpIn reference to the direction of travel means towards the major terminus (i.e. towards Kidderminster on the present day SVR) Home Starter and 31, the Back Road (Platform 3) starter which is still set to clear.
