92212 at Bridgnorth

92212 is a British Railways Standard Class 9FThe British Railways system of classifying steam locomotives by power using a number from 0, least powerful, to 9, most powerful, followed by either F for freight, P for Passenger or MT for Mixed Traffic. 2-10-0 locomotive, one of the final batch of steam locomotives produced by British Railways at Swindon Works. In service it worked on the Somerset & Dorset line; in South Wales and in North-West England, but spent about half of its short working life based at Tyseley depot in Birmingham. It was withdrawn in January 1968 after 8 years in service.

Following withdrawal the loco was bought by Woodham Bros at BarryWoodham Brothers Scrapyard, Barry, South Wales. The source of many locomotives now in preservation.. The loco left BarryWoodham Brothers Scrapyard, Barry, South Wales. The source of many locomotives now in preservation. in 1979 for restoration on the Great Central Railway, which was completed in 1996.

92212 is currently owned by Jeremy Hosking and is based on the Mid-Hants Railway. It was hired to the SVRSevern Valley Railway in summer 2011.
