Since its formation in 1965, the Severn Valley Railway has won many awards from various railway, heritage, tourism or other organisations.
- 1982 Highley: Best preserved station
- 1987 Kidderminster: Best Preserved Station
- 1995 BR Mark 1 Gangwayed Full Brake (BG) 80776: Association of Railway Preservation Societies, Coach of the Year
- 2003 Kidderminster Railway Museum National Railway Heritage Awards, The Ian Allan Publishing Award Joint winner

Mention should also be made of Arley Station Master, Mr. George Batchelor, who was awarded several prizes by The Great Western Railway in the early 1900s for the gardens at Arley Station.[1]
