It was preserved in 1984, and was formerly used as an SAS training vehicle (evidenced by broken table legs and a seat scorched by a stun grenade)<ref>vintagecarriagestrust.org</ref>. It was originally overhauled at Bewdley in 1997, with another overhaul and repaint in 2011 (the tyres were turned at Bristol at the same time).
3103 is painted into 1957 Maroon livery with black ends, and is seen paired with [[BR 1682 Restaurant Buffet | Buffet Restaurant carriage (RB) No 1682 ]] for 'Severn Valley Venturer' catering use and special services. It is owned by the [[The SVR (BR) Buffet Car Fund|SVR (BR) Buffet Car Fund]]<ref>SVR Stock Book 9th edition</ref>.
