Add some bits about copyright for content added to the wiki, and reword the rest to sound better.
Content added to the SVR Wiki is generally considered to be contributed under the [https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License]. In generalsummary, there are two cases where we need to consider copyright work under this license may be freely used and sourcing - firstly in copying text from someone modified by anyone elsefor any purpose, with the requirement that appropriate credit is given (e.g. a link to the SVR Wiki page), and secondly that any derived content is released under the same license. Some content on this site is uploaded under other licences, which are noted in each case. This is most common for images, where the original author has permitted use of images, photographstheir material on the SVR Wiki only. When adding content to the site, it is important to consider copyright and so on.sourcing
== Text ==
In general, you should avoid copying text verbatim from another source - very often it makes for a fairly low quality article, as the text will be out of context and probably in the wrong style. Instead, it's far better to is preferable re-write these information in your own words (preferably bringing things together from several sources), and then referencing where you got reference the information from original source - a link to a web page, or perhaps a short note identifying a book or magazine. If you do need to copy text, you should make clear that it is a quote (e.g. , such as by making italicising it italic and enclosing or surrounding it in with speech marks), and again, say where it came from.
== Images and Photographs ==
Most of the images you find on the internet, whilst freely viewable, are still owned by their cannot be copied without the author's permission. As a result, we are not able to copy their image onto this website without their permission. , There are two possible solutions to this - firstly. Firstly, you many authors have been cooperative when asked if their material can simply ask be used on the author whether they would be happy for us to copy it onto this site! Many people are quite willing to let you do this, provided that you provide some appropriate credit to them (which can be done on the file information page); is given -- they might even be tempted to start contributing to the Wiki! Secondly, using more of their photo collection. Failing that, you can provide a ''it is always permissible to link'' to the original page with the image on - e.g. a flickr page, or someone's personal photo website. This means the photo is still under their control, but it still allows readers of this site to view the image; if the image is freely viewable online, there is nothing to stop you telling people where to find it.
