It is a Churchward design incorporating the first later developments of 51 four wheel tank wagons constructed between 1894 and 1911 to Diagam DD3, with the 3108 gallon tanks being built ‘toplights’ era. It was purchased by the GWR locomotive department[[Great Western (SVR) Assoc.|The Great Western (SVR) Association]] from Barry in November 1967, where it had been in use as a mess / sleeping van.
