The District Nurse was a BBC TV Wales series created by Tony Holland and Julia Smith, starring Nerys Hughes. Hughes portrayed Megan Roberts, a forward thinking distinct nurse in the South Wales mining town of Pencwm.[1] It ran to 36 episodes over three series and was shown on BBC One between 1984 and 1987, the first episode airing on 10 January 1984.

The series was filmed around Nantymoel, Ogmore Vale in Bridgend with Bewdley Station used as a filming location[2].
