The Box of Delights is a BBC children's drama series of six episodes first broadcast on BBC1 between 21 November and 24 December 1984. It starred Devin Stanfield as the young boy Kay Harker, Patrick Troughton (the Second Doctor Who) as the scruffy but kindly Punch and Judy Man Cole Hawlings, and Robert Stephens as the sinister Abner Brown. It was based on the 1935 book by then-Poet Laureate John Masefield, and was largely filmed on location in his home county of Herefordshire[1].
