Talk:Rock Siding

David Rostance's picture (links section of this article) shows a disc signal for access to the Rock Siding. The Bewdley South signal box page also refers to Signal 14 as "Disc for No. 18" (Back Platform / Rock Siding). However Ian Murray's 2020 picture at the bottom of that page (and a later picture in SVRSevern Valley Railway News 219 after the 2022 refurbishment) suggests this has been replaced by a regular signal arm. Not sure if we should amend the signalling page and/or remove the David Rostance link in this article. --Robin (talk) 13:06, 8 April 2024 (UTC)

Ah, this now explains to me why I noticed the disc is missing in later images, thank you. Perhaps "Access to Rock Siding from the Foley Park direction was controlled by Bewdley South's Signal 14 as "Disc for No. 18" (Back Platform / Rock Siding), as shown in David Rostance's image. After refurbishment this [seems to have been?] replaced by a regular signal arm, as shown in Ian Murray's 2020 picture"? Unless someone knows better?--Patrick Hearn (talk) 19:45, 8 April 2024 (UTC)
Thanks. I've browsed around SVRSevern Valley Railway News, and it was replaced at some time between 2002 and 2012, presumably when the signal was refurbished in 2006. I've tweaked both articles accordingly. --Robin (talk) 13:29, 9 April 2024 (UTC)
Thank you. I've also updated the description of the photo on the image collections page.--Patrick Hearn (talk) 21:08, 9 April 2024 (UTC)
