The SVRSevern Valley Railway stock book quotes a 400 gallon capacity, however this appears to be a misprint. The load capacity is 20 tons (see wagon frame). 4,000 gallons of water weighs 40,000 lbs (approx) or 17.9 tons. Oil is likely to be more dense, hence 20 tons appears correct for 4,000 gallons.
