Talk:Engineer's Line References

I've started adding Depot Codes etc. here. It's little more than a bare list at the moment and I'm not sure if it's worth creating a new page, or to rename this one Engineer's Line References and Depot Codes. --Graham Phillips 110 (talk) 22:03, 24 August 2018 (UTC)

I'd say a new page in due course, as they are not particularly related to the ELRs. Is there a distinction between Shed and Depot? Was the term "Shed" used more in the steam era, as in Kings Cross being "Top Shed", with Depot more in the diesel era as in "Motive Power Depot", or did they serve different functions? Or are they interchangeable, as "coach" and "carriage" appear to be. For what it's worth there is an existing page for Kidderminster Shed which is how Tony Barfield described it in his book. --Robin (talk) 13:22, 26 August 2018 (UTC)
